Causes of Vaginal Yeast Infection

When you were young, a teacher or parent taught you the difference between boys and girls.   • Scented laundry detergents and body washes.

  • Panties with dye on the inner lining.
  • Staying in a wet bathing suit.
  • A poor diet.
  • Diabetes Mellitus.
  • A suppressed immune system.
  • Pregnancy.

Symptoms of Vaginal Yeast Infection

Most likely, you don't want to discuss your vagina with friends or family, but should be able to recognize the symptoms of a vaginal yeast infection.


Keep in mind there are several other conditions, including sexually transmitted diseases that can mimic the symptoms of a vaginal yeast infection, so it's important to talk with your doctor before developing a plan.


Common vaginal yeast infection symptoms include:

  • Itching, burning, redness, and/or swelling of the vagina and the vulva
  • Abnormal vaginal discharge that is thick, white, and similar to the consistency of cottage cheese (does not have a bad odor)
  • Soreness near the vagina or vulva
  • A skin rash on the vagina
  • Pain when urinating
  • Pain during sex
